Alors que ces cellules ne repr\u00e9sentent qu\u2019une infime partie des ventricules, elles jouent un role majeur dans l\u2019apparition des arythmies ventriculaires. Bien que les fibres de Purkinje pr\u00e9sentent des propri\u00e9t\u00e9s tr\u00e8s proches de cellules neuronales, ces cellules sont d\u2019origine myog\u00e9nique comme les cardiomyocytes contractiles. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une analyse clonale temporelle, cette \u00e9tude retrace le destin de chaque cellule prog\u00e9nitrice, et montre que le circuit \u00e9lectrique des ventricules se construit petit \u00e0 petit par le recrutement progressif de cardiomyocytes embryonnaires. Ce recrutement s\u2019acc\u00e9l\u00e8re dans le c\u0153ur f\u0153tal sous l\u2019impulsion de l\u2019activit\u00e9 du g\u00e8ne Nkx2-5.
