Au sein du g\u00e9nome, les g\u00e8nes peuvent parfois se chevaucher. Dans cette \u00e9tude interdisciplinaire, l\u2019\u00e9quipe Bertrand, en collaboration avec l\u2019\u00e9quipe Villoutreix au MMG, a analys\u00e9 les cons\u00e9quences d\u2019une configuration g\u00e9nomique remarquable o\u00f9 un g\u00e8ne est nich\u00e9 dans un intron d\u2019un g\u00e8ne h\u00f4te en direction oppos\u00e9e. Ils ont tout d\u2019abord \u00e9tudi\u00e9 l\u2019exemple, chez C. elegans, du g\u00e8ne de sp\u00e9cification neuronale ceh-10 qui est nich\u00e9 au sein du g\u00e8ne de r\u00e9paration de l\u2019ADN polq-1. En combinant ing\u00e9nierie du g\u00e9nome par CRISPR et hybridation in situ en mol\u00e9cule unique, ils ont observ\u00e9 que la transcription dans les neurones du g\u00e8ne nich\u00e9 induit l\u2019expression d\u2019une version courte de son g\u00e8ne h\u00f4te. Ils ont ensuite \u00e9tendu cette analyse au sein du g\u00e9nome aux centaines de g\u00e8nes codant des prot\u00e9ines et pr\u00e9sentant cette configuration emboit\u00e9e. En analysant des donn\u00e9es de s\u00e9quen\u00e7age ARN en cellule unique qui couvrent l\u2019embryogen\u00e8se de C. elegans, ils ont observ\u00e9 que la coexpression entre g\u00e8ne nich\u00e9 et g\u00e8ne h\u00f4te est courante et que les g\u00e8nes nich\u00e9s ont tendance \u00e0 induire l\u2019expression de leurs g\u00e8nes h\u00f4tes.

Cette \u00e9tude illustre comment la pr\u00e9sence d\u2019un g\u00e8ne nich\u00e9 peut influencer l\u2019expression de son h\u00f4te.<\/p>\n
