Outre cette d\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9rescence des muscles squelettiques, il existe \u00e9galement une forte pr\u00e9valence de cardiomyopathies chez ces patients et les arythmies ventriculaires, telles que la tachycardie ventriculaire et la fibrillation ventriculaire, repr\u00e9sentent l\u2019une des causes principales de d\u00e9c\u00e8s chez ces patients. Il a r\u00e9cemment \u00e9t\u00e9 sugg\u00e9r\u00e9 que les fibres de Purkinje (PF), des cellules cardiaques sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9es dans la propagation de l\u2019activit\u00e9 \u00e9lectrique dans le coeur, joueraient un r\u00f4le cl\u00e9 dans le d\u00e9veloppement et le maintien de ces arythmies ventriculaires. Or, la dystrophine est abondamment exprim\u00e9e dans les PF par rapport aux autres cardiomyocytes et les PF dystrophiques pr\u00e9sentent une d\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9rescence des vacuoles chez l\u2019Homme et chez les chiens. Ainsi, la dystrophine pourrait jouer un r\u00f4le primordial dans la fonction et l&#8217;int\u00e9grit\u00e9 des PF cardiaques.<\/p><p>Dans cet article publi\u00e9 dans <strong>Frontiers in Physiology<\/strong>, Juliette Vahdat de l\u2019\u00e9quipe Kelly montre que la dystrophine est effectivement surexprim\u00e9e dans le PF dans un mod\u00e8le murin DMD (souris mdx) mais que les arythmies ventriculaires observ\u00e9es chez ces souris sont li\u00e9es \u00e0 une fibrose plut\u00f4t qu\u2019\u00e0 une d\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9rescence des PF.
